Enterprise Strategy Design To Reinvent Operating Model

Challenge Faced

Client was surviving in a long, downturn business cycle and climate.  The Board of Directors (BoD), Private Equity Ownership (PE) along with the CEO and COO felt the timing was critical to revisit the Enterprise Strategy and its implications to the Business Operating Model.  Our role was to assist the client to move from survival mode to thriving in a sustainable posture.  The BoD, PE and Executive Leadership team wanted to set the client for a possible sale, merger or potential acquisition opportunity.   We worked with the BoD and Senior leaders in designing a new, clearly aligned Enterprise Strategy, while reinventing the Business Operating Model.

Engagement Approach

Our approach executed Steps 1 through 4 of our proven Strategy design and Operating Model transformation framework (S.O.A.P.)  Our engagement reflected a Phase 1 effort of 90-Day process to design the Enterprise Strategy and presented to the BoD and the Senior Leadership Team. We completed Phase 2 (Steps 3 & 4) to reinvented the Business Operating Model to drive out cost, eliminate waste, simplify Core Processes.

Results

We delivered to the BoD, PE and Leadership a more viable, sustainable and aligned Enterprise strategy.  The Strategy provided more clarity to the Market especially its assets, capabilities and core competencies.  This resulted in the execution of a merger within 9 months at a premium price. We identified opportunities to implement significant cost savings, delayering of management layers, and operational efficiencies.
