Shared Services Strategy (Ssg) & Operating Model Design
Problem Statement
The President of client’s Shared Services Group (“SSG”) and Chief Operating Officer wanted to design, unify and collaborate on each individual functional and Shared Services domain related strategy for the fiscal periods of 2016 through 2018. Engagement was key to the functional strategies alignment to the five Brand strategies at an Enterprise level. The COO needed to develop key Operating Model components such as SSG Processes, Operating Principles, Strategies, and Business Success Metrics.
Engagement Approach
Our approach created a template to capture the individual Brand strategies as articulated by each of the five client Brands for the fiscal period of 2016 through 2018. Our approach leveraged our proprietary Strategy design template, formally noted as the S.O.A.P. We facilitated both the individual functional teams (Sourcing, Information Technology, Supply Chain and Distribution, Human Resources, Finance and Digital Strategy and Transformational Services), as well the SSG Leadership sessions in to unify the functional strategies into a single, consolidated SSG Strategy. We supported the COO in the design of the Operating Principles, major SSG processes, Roles & Responsibilities and Business Success Metrics. We prepared the presentations summarizing the SSG, Functional and Brand Strategies across the Enterprise.
Results
Results of our work were high quality, well received set of SSG Operating Principles, Roles & Responsibilities and Business Success Metrics on behalf of SSG. We delivered a “unified” set of Functional and Domain based strategies that showed their alignment to the Brand Strategies and Strategic Intents, by Functional Leader and SSG overall.
