Enterprise Strategy Design To Transform Its Operating Model
Challenge Faced
Client’s CEO felt it the timing was critical to revisit its Enterprise Strategy and corresponding Business Model design. This was critical to its competitive posture, customer relevance and market sustainability. CEO wanted to be more proactive, solutions driven, and differentiated in their go to market strategy relative to digital, data and innovation product/service design. Client lacked maturity in building new capabilities in the solution or product development processes. Client needed to innovate from an “outside-in” perspective. Our engagement required designing a new Enterprise Strategy to transform the Business Operating Model. Our role was to design new roles, Core Processes, governance structures, success metrics, and an end-to-end product development process.
Engagement Approach
We executed Steps 1 through 4 of our Strategy and Operating Model design framework (S.O.A.P.) Our executed the Strategy design process, and finalized in a presentation to the BoD and the Senior Leadership Team. We the executed a Phase 2 inclusive of reinventing client’s Business Operating Model to drive out cost, eliminate layers of management, define and simplify Core Processes to establish an Innovative Solutions core competence. The Operating Model design process leveraged emerging trends, practices and techniques from an inside-out and outside-in perspective.
Results
We delivered a new Enterprise Strategy to the BoD, resulting in a unanimous decision to move rapidly into the implementation of the requisite changes to the Business Operating Model. We delivered significant cost savings in less than 12 months, increased the level of sales activity and competence within the 18 months, resulting in new revenue streams, client driven pilots, and a move into more ideation and co-development opportunities with stakeholders across their ecosystem.
