Case Study
Global Consumer Products Company
Digital And advanced Analytics Assessment (COE)
Challenges Faced
Client’s COO felt that the internal return on data and information was too silo’d, not leveraged from a consumer, or internal perspective. COO wanted to assess the value of developing a more centralized capability in the form of a Center of Excellence (CoE) inclusive of talent, software platform, data repository and overall CoE structure.
Engagement Approach
Our engagement reflected a 90-Day cross functional assessment at multi-levels within the Enterprise, including Supply Chain, Marketing, Manufacturing, IT, HR, Distribution/Transportation, Analytics, and Consumer Experience. We assess major Business Units, and Executive Leadership capabilities to identify the demand maturity for advanced analytics. Our assessment detailed the Company’s supply capabilities relative to building and delivering advanced analytics from a people/talent, process, technology platform, and organizational structure point of view.
Results
Our assessment concluded the client maintained a lack of process, data governance, data accessibility and platform standardization. The client also suffered from significant fragmentation of analytics capabilities. Fortunately, there were pockets of goodness in BI and mobile technology. However, minimal leverage with regard to analytics frameworks, process or platforms to collaborate on cross business, and functional insights.
